Alternator

Just looking at getting an alternator now for my pinto. What has other people done in this respect. I know tiger sell the LR101 or whatever it is. Do anyone know what car this comes off so i could get one from the scrappy.
Ive also heard that some people use a nippon type as it is smaller. What car would this come off of?
Also is it easier to use the LR101 as tiger do a fitting bracket for it.

Cheers

Rob

Both the Lucas LR100 or LR101 will fit with a little grinding off the standard Sierra bracket. You can get a new one for under £30.
Don't know what car they come off though.

I got hold of a Nippon denso alternator off eBay only 100mm across so should fit easily. cost me £40 plus p&p

The guy seems to have a few and they come up on eBay regularly. worth keeping an eye out...

It's not from a ford....

Dunno about fitting yet because I haven't tried however I assume I will have to make / adapt a suitable bracket.

Viper has fitted his, with a home made bracket - see HERE
