speedo cable?

hi all i have just fitted a speedo cable to my car and i was woundering how do i know if it works or not the car is not going yet so i can not test drive it that way
it is on a type 9 box and a 2.0 pinto the car is on axle stand at the mow .
has it got to be in gear or not?

If the engine runs then run the car and put it into gear. If it's plumbed into he speedo ok then all should be well. I presume you are using the Sierra Clocks?

If the engine is not yet running then you will have to wait till it is.

no iam useing tiger clocks as it is a tiger
i will have to wait until the car is running thanks

try using a drill on the end of the cable
