not happy - need hubs

on my last nerve now, some of you might know but i've been having problems with my hubs (front and back) so I took them to mackays to get them re-threaded as the threads where crap only for them to return it saying they cant do it. but during the process they were able to split the thread through the hub out the side...

phoning tiger they'll give me crap saying they cant take it back because someone 'else' has damaged it but if it wasnt damaged in the first place it wouldnt need to be re-threaded in the first place! argh

dont know how much the hubs are but i bought them in a bulk buy last year and it ripped me £800 flipping quid. dont know how much of that represents the hubs but it better not be much..

sorry just having a rantt. any ideas what I can do?

does anyone know if anyone can make the hubs from fresh or have them going for sale?

cheers

I guess it depends on what you are using for the uprights, I've got a set of ally Cortina hubs for sale, but obviously they will only fit Cortina uprights, I'm not sure what Tiger use, saying that though, I have all ready sold a set for a racing Tiger

think im getting the terms wrong. think i need the uprights for the avon rather than the hubs. (the fabricated fixures that fit join the top and lower wish bones together. the drive shaft goes through the middle of this fixture. thats the bit I need.

(sorry)

that would be the rear uprights or hub carriers. Mine needed retapping before I could use them too. Could you not weld up the hole, drill and tap again. They are £80 quid plus vat from Tiger.......not cheap. It must be worth a try.

"just like that !"

(NTDWM) but there's a complete Avon rear end on ebay at the mo' including a recon. diff ('though at £99 starting price, it'll be cheaper to get the uprights from Tiger - unless you need the other bits of course. He's also selling shocks and front 'bones. Do a search under 'Tiger Avon' )
