Engine installation dimensions

Im looking to install the pinto engine soon and have heard a few different versions on installation. Mainly that the dimension s in the book are not quite correct.
As I wont be buying the carbs or the alternator yet am i safer to wait until i have these before installing the engine?

Thanks

Rob

If you fit the engine to the book dims then it will sit nose down tail high, lean to the drivers side abd point to the drvers side as well, i have mounted mine so that it sits central in the chassis, vertical and level.
i have used a little alternator and have shortened the inlet manifold so i can use the filters of my choice.
