Another new Tiger
Hi All,
I used to be a regular on here many years ago under a different username when I built a Tiger Avon for track use only. I have just bitten the bullet
and ordered a new Tiger Avon chassis to start a road legal build. I pick up my first selection of parts from Tiger on June 20th. So will be hovering
round here quite a bit over the next several months. I would be interested to know if there are any fellow builders in the Cheltenham area.
Cheers all,
Ian

Hi,
I reckon I will go with a 2.0 Zetec probably running on throttle bodies.

Made the 6 hour round trip today to Wisbech to pick up my first lot of goodies.
I now have powder coated chassis, front wishbones and suspension, steering rack/shaft/column, fuel and brake lines along with wiring loom and Ali
panels. Nuts bolts clips and rivets to suit.
Looking forward to making a start.

I'm a week ahead of you. Got both floor panels trimmed and fitted (no where near the actual floor dimension and angles) mounted the diff and got
the brake lines ready to go in with the pedals tomorrow.

I built mine on a tressel with wheels so I could wheel it outside onto my drive for more space. Made life easier and it was at a height I could
comfortably work at.

Rivet gun turned up today so as long as the tin snips turn up before the weekend I can make a start on the Panels.

I need to take some pics to go with this update. Floor is all done. Tunnel partially done. Back panel shaped and trimmed along with rest of panels but
not fitted. Brake and clutch pedal fitted. Master cylinder along with front brake lines fitted. Just waiting for a manual brake bias valve to arrive
then I can complete the brake lines. Steering rack front wishbones and shocks all fitted. Currently refurbing uprights before fitting. Want to get
fuel line and loom through the tunnel next weekend before the engine arrives the weekend after. All going fairly to plan currently :crossesfingers:

Things are progressing nicely.
Engine, gearbox, propshaft, diff, driveshafts, rear suspension now all in.
Wiring loom loosely laid in (that still scares me a bit)
Just waiting on front calipers arriving and new pistons for the rear brakes and I will be able to fill the brake system and officially have a rolling
chassis. Next jobs are sort a fuel tank and plumbing for the engine and then with some fettling I may even be able to start her up .... that sounds a
little mad !!

The mile stone of a rolling chassis was achieved at the weekend and the brakes seem to be working well too. I think they would benefit from another
bleed but very happy chappy today.

Ha ha, you could have one of those Fast and Furious infinite speed boxes.

Managed to sneak away into the garage a few times over the festive period which resulted in another milestone. After finishing off the cooling system
I managed to sort the loom to the extent that I could power up the Megajolt and activate the fuel pump.
Yesterday afternoon at about 3.30pm I tried to start her. She immediately started to try, so I had something right. Tried a couple of more times and
she was trying but not really catching. I then realised I had removed the earth strap from the engine to chassis a few days before and not put it back
on. Put that back on and she fired straight up
Idles well but lumpy when adding throttle so need to have a few tweaks but very very exciting nonetheless.
