Front suspension

Can anyone tell me how high the uppers front suspension inner pivots are above the lower?

The book is wrong (as you all probably know) and when I ask Jim Dudley he just says how good the handling is!!!

Help!!

can't help you.

I've redone the front. top is 5 cm smaller
By making a 3 D drawing.
We moved the suspension 5 up and 5 down. No bumpsteer. rollcentre at 45 mm

Try to get the lines across the wishbones and steering-bones to come to getter in one point. (the instand-centre)

If so the handling will be fine.

Try to keep the lower horizontal.
The upper will be pointing towards the centre of the car.

try the search. there's a lot of been written.

Yes, i found two of them for only 10 euro's

I don't like the look of the sierra upright.

Maybe you could look for a Hyundai Stellar? The Taunus Mk1, MK2 and MK3 are using the same.

The Taunus are getting rare around here.
But the upright is also available in aftermarket.

If you like Opel you could use the Manta and kadett-c upright.

I heard some one uses the Nissan Vanette uprights?

Any chance of a look at your drawing?

I am not sure what you mean by the 'front top is 5 cm smaller'. Is that meaning that the top pivot line is 5mm lower?

I have searched but nobody has referred to this problem. Is my book the only one wrong??

I need a base suspension configuration to work from.

To fit the nose and bonnet I had to make the top of the chassis smaller.. So the top rail left and right are closer to getter.

I have the orange book. One thing i noticed (later on ) was that the drawings in the book do not give any caster !!! The 90 degr angle must be at the bottom and not on the top. Cause the bottom frame is pointing about 5,5 degr up. These 5,5 is hardly needed tot give you selfcentre.

Can't give you exact measurements due the drawing are in someone elses PC.
Car is not at my home but at my parents

He someone must be able to measure up an TIGER fab frame!!!! RUDY? AVONEER?
WHERE ARE THEY WHEN someone needs you!!

look into their photo achive

PS. in this section you won't find much self-builder-frames. Go to the upper locost section. And ask there in the chassis or running-gear your question again
