Which Kit review and build series
Anyone else seen the 'Rave' review of the Avon in which kit? seemed a little over the top - IMHO......
I was hoping that the build section would be useful but it seems a little lacking in any detail...... - interesting how he went on about how good the
welding and construction was on the chassis...

Funny as well how they managed to build the Zetec Orange one for under £6k.
I could say that there is something very dodgy going on like, have a free kit, but do a good review, and don't measure the rear wheel arches as
one is 1" wider across the front than the other, but that could be liabolous so I won't.

I’ve a letter, forwarded to me from a respected manufacturer, in which Which Kit? argues that a series of 20 pages is worth £6,000 in advertising
terms.
It makes the point that their asking that manufacturer for a £6,000 kit in exchange therefore makes perfect sense. They wax lyrical about how good
these build series are (from the manufacturers perspective) but it does beg the question as to whom the magazine is working for, doesn’t it?
It seems to me that “Which?” wotnot should be working for the reader rather more than for manufacturer. Otherwise it becomes a wolf in sheep’s
clothing, or a gamekeeper turned poacher.
Probably just me though!

Don't tell me the pages on this forum are going to get involved in the Which Kit/Kit Car war now...
I can't believe how long this has gone on for! Both parties fill their pages with loads of ads just to pad them out in the name of bigger and
better.
I only buy them for pictures and ideas, most of the tech sections are basic compared to the stuff you read on here. If I want to find something out I
post on here, get an almost instant answer from people building in the real world!

I fully agree with zetec and I sincerely hope that Den doesn't use this forum as a venue for his war/feud/call it what you want. Thank goodness
we don't have the array of emoticons available for him to pepper his conversations (see pistonheads for examples!)
Den,can we look forward to helpful Locost building advice?

I don't think anyone should get excited, I could log in as a new user called Den Tanner if I wanted to!

Funny how this car, when exhibited at Donington this year was right next to the Westfield stand. Perhaps Mark Evans built it! I spoke to one of the
'sales reps' and he explained that the car had been professionally resprayed etc. for the £6k figure. MY own car stands me at over £7k
and still needs to go to the body shop , to correct all the previously posted cock ups that Tiger have produced on my vehicle! Any way it's
Christmas, good will to all the real car builders .

Funny how all Tiger's demo Avons have been resprayed?
I'm up to 7.5k and still got work to do...

When did this months edition of Which Kit come out? I'm a subscriber to it, and therefore think I should get it the same day it comes out in the
shops. if not before!
Telephone call Monday morning I feel.

Just don't expect any body work you buy from them to be anything like that orange car...

£7.5 K WOW!
I must be doing something wrong, should easily get finished under £5K. At the moment, however, not planning on reverse box or screen.
Maybe I forgot something.

I made the mistake of buying the comprehensive kit, and ZX9 engine, plus LSD, prop & cat exhaust. The money does soon mount up tho!
