Sierra rear axles

Can anyone out there tell me what is the difference between the disc and drum drive shafts, idealy any picture showing the difference or better still drawings with diamentions for both. the area i need is around the hub end, As i am from australia we dont have those cars here so no way of looking and measuring.

Hi Thierry,
The drum drive shafts slide directly into the diff, with a sealed cv join either end. The Disc axles have Lobro joints both ends of the drive shafts, with flanged stub shafts at the diff end Here in SA we get two types of hub the drum hub is just a simple hub whilst the disc hub has cast lugs added that the caliper bolts to. I trie dup loading photos but I can't get it to work. If you pm me with your e mail address, I'll take some photos and send them to you, we have thousands of Sierra/Sapphires here.
