sva brake ballanceing
greeating chaps,
as some will know my car is at the painters now and should be back soon.
any way one of the jobs they said they couldnt do is ballance the brakes.
im not sure what the deal is for the SVA. i know the ballance bar has got to be set so its no longer adjustable and ive read how to do it with the
little roll pins.
but is there a certain pressure the brakes need to opperate at or are they just so the front lock before the rears and if so by how much
also to look at my balance bar the whole dash would have to removed with the clocks and switches being un screwed or disconected.
any ideas or any body close to liverpool who could have alook and advise.

Hi i just had my sva with a ballence bar. 1. The bar must be locked with rollpins, i didn't drill the bar and do this untill it had been tested,
then drilled it before the retest.
2. At SVA they test the brakes at a certain pedal force to make sure the brakes lock. I can't remember what the force is but basically they want
to make sure that even a weak person can get them to lock up.
3. they test the brakes at 5 different pedal forces, at each of the 5 differet forces the front must lock before the rear.
4 they feed the results into the computer and you keep your fingers crossed for a pass.
