Tiger Avon engine position
Hi,
I'm having a Zetec fitted to my Avon.
The mechanic has just called as he wants to make sure the position is correct before he cuts the exhaust hole.
Using Tigers engine mounts the engine is 3/4 inch lower at the front than the back. Is this correct? He couldn't get hold of anyone at Tiger
today to ask
Thanks,
Andy

I fitted mine with the Tiger supplied mounts. It does slope to the front. You cant go higher because the nose cone and bonnet do not have enough
height to raise it. The real trick is to position it so that the prop shaft is inserted in the gearbox and so that you have clearance for the starter
motor against the chassis, plus on the otherside space to get the oil filter out without fouling the steering shaft. I would play with it before
drilling holes.
Hope this helps.

Mine slopes slightly down at the front, but as long as the starter and filter clear it's fine.
