Stoneleigh and Avon builders advice...
How many Avon builders are going to Stoneleigh kitcar show ? are you all going on a particular day ? Id like to have a look at some 'real'
cars as oppose to ones that are presented in show condition by the manufacturer...or alternatively is anyone building one not far from Coventry that
wouldnt mind me popping over whilst you have a good rant about the kit to me ?
Ive bought the last two copies of Which Kit ? and errr Which Kit 'Car' ? and I also bought Practical Classics (for the Pinto rebuild)
which also had a good Caterham article in. Anyway, when compared, (Im prepared for a flaming here...) the Avon and the Caterham look very similar in
proportions, which is what I think makes or breaks a 'Seven' type car, they also say that the Tiger is good quality ! after reading the
threads on this forum Im not sure I want one though.
Thanks
James

As with anything, the car will be as good as you make it. admittedly the Avon has it problems but i recommend you go to the show and make your own
mind up.
Personally i am enjoying my build and see the problems as a series of challenges.
Hopefully there will be a few completed cars this year - will be on the lookout myself......I am hoing that Tractorboy may be there with his complete
Avon ?
If you haven't commited to the Avon yet have a serious look at the Mk and Luego stands - there will also be a good selection of completed
MK's at the show -
General opinion on this site at least is that it is a superior quality car.

Yeah, Ive been following the whole seven scene for ages and have been to loads of shows and seen most of the marques in the flesh, although have never
been in a position or had that much of opportunity to get a kitcar due to other cars and things. I personally am not keen on the proportions of the
MK and Luego, I have fancied a Rush for ages, but the outright cost has always been the big issue and the build costs would be way more than I
realistically want to spend. The Tiger although having a different look to the DAX has grown on me since reading the Which Kit ? build article. I
have not paid much attention to building problems with the kits as I always intended to buy a secondhand one due to the large amounts of miney people
lose once the car is built and sold on, but the Tiger is a relatively cheap, good looking car to build. There is a part built Avon in last months
Which Kit ? for £2k which has my attention, but I am holding off doing anything till Ive had a look at one in the flesh, I also have a road car to
sell to make space in my garage, which is giving me time to think what I want to do, but summer is practically here ! ! and Im getting tetchy now !

Before you get all excited over the avon i suggest you make use of the search facility on this site, there is a lot to read concerning the
Avon......
There is no way i would recomend an Avon or for that matter Tiger.
