Floor mounted pedal box

Having finally fitted a Luego type floor mounted pedal box to my Avon (pinto/type 9 gearbox) and temporarilly fitting clutch cable, I found the clutch pedal very heavy in operation. I suspect this is down to the tight bend the cable has to go through to connect it to the gearbox.
I wondered if anyone who'd fitted the same pedals suffered the same heavy clutch (Northy etc.)?
Also, have you had to secure the cable to the actuating arm in some way, as it seems to become easily disconnected?

Cheers,
Andy.

Andy,

Have you looked at Luego's build manual? Its available on there website.

My clutch is quite heavy, but not too bad. Can you drill the hole closer to the end to give more leverage?

I have a spring fitted on the cable as suggested in Luego's build manual. This stops the cable coming out.

BUT, it is worth it in the end. I love my flor mounted pedals!

Yep, I have followed the Luego build manual as closely as possible ('though they don't refer to the clutch cable at gearbox end!)
I have already drilled the pedal as close to the end as possible.
What spring did you use at the pedal end?

Cheers,
Andy.

I pinched the spring out of my sealant gun, and used some plastic spacres.

How heavy is the pedal? What are you comparing it to?

How is the cable becoming disconnected?

Cheers

As the cable isn't under tension when the pedal is at rest, the nipple at gearbox end slips out of its slot and out the larger hole on the actuating fork.
A Joyner on SW Tiger forum suggested putting a bolt through the larger hole which will trap the nipple in place.
Just looked at my sealant guns and springs don't look long enough to use!
Can you remember where you got your sealant gun from?

Cheers,
Andy.

My cable isn't under tension, but only just.
Bolt sounds a good idea.

The sealant gun was just one of the cheap metal orange ones, but I think I had to add some plastic spacers too. Remind me tomorrow night and I'll take some pictures for you.

Cheers
