polo rad
just been to the scarp yard and got
a rad from a G reg polo please couuld
tell me from the pic is it the right one tks.

Yes
that is the same as the rad i used in my car. I made two brackets with holes drilled in them to locate on the bottom mounting pegs and two brackets
that attached to the tapped holes for fan mounting at the top.

what did you you make the brackets
from and have you got any pictures
and was the rad up right or st a angle

Hi Marshall,
The rad sits vertical right at the front of the nose - about 5 inches out from the front of the chassis.
I welded a flat bat across the width of the car, that was the width of the radiator, almost at the front of the bar that sticks out to bolt the nose
to. I then drilled a hole at each end of this bar and the two pegs on the bottom of the radiator just drop into the two holes on the flat bar.
You can see how I mounted the top in this pic.

thank for your pictures when
i removed the rad from the polo i left the fan and housing do i need this if so
i will go back and get it or can i get away without it and use some thing else?

I have used the fan from Robin Hood. £13 and does the job. I don't think you can do much better!

The Polo rad fan is a bit big and bulky (heavy). I used a fan from a Fiat Uno!
