Cycle wing stays

Dear All,

I am trying to fit my cycle wing stays onto the cortina hubs on the three mounting points.
Problem I have is that there is limited flat surface at these point on the hub and the spacers I made are too large in diameter to get them to sit properly. I would be keen to know how others have got round this.

Ta Stu

I got this pic from somewhere (can't remember where) and have used the same method, except that I have the head of the bolt on the inside. The sequence goes something like:

Bolt head-washer-stay-washer-split washer-plain nut

then the run of the bolt

then plain nut-washer-hub carrier (htreaded hole)

I think I will have to cover up the bolt threads with something like heater tubing Rescued attachment Wing stay mounts.jpg

I used 13mm tube to fill in the gaps, welded to the back of 3mm plate Rescued attachment Stays.JPG

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
