Looks good so far, maybe we should meet up and exchange notes, you are slightly further ahead than me, but by the time you've received and
fitted the infamous avon bodywork, we'll probably be about the same
Where did you get the small alternator and bracket, is it the sbd one? I have an alternator but need a bracket like you have but can't bring
myself to pay the £50odd that sbd want just for the little ally bracket!
Another question, how have you plumbed your oil cooler in? Any pics of the way you've done the take off plate, or are you using a sandwich
plate? Is the filter in standard location or have you moved it for clearance?
cheers,
Ned.

evening ned. i am definately up for a meet. regarding your questions, the oil cooler is via the standard vx sandwich plate and standard oil filter.
ground clearance may be a problem for the oil filter, in which case i may try to source a shorter oil filter(possibly a renault 5) or i may fit a sump
guard or both.
as for the alternator is a 29 amp item from a kubota stationary engine that came out of a thermoking refrigeration unit. the braket is what came on
the engine. i will try to get some more pics of the oil cooler pipework tomorrow. mja

alternator bracket
ned i was wrong about the alternator bracket,
(senior moment). it did not come with the xe engine it came from an 8 valve astra lump 1.6 or 1.8 at the local scrappy. mja.

Just 2 things I have noticed
Will your rear brake pipes rub on the wheel?
You have ali paneled the outside of the informous round tube that the body should fit over, This could be a problem area. For warned etc....
