Lambda sensor
Ive a Zetrec Avon and I am about to fit the exhaust. Whats the best way to fit the Lambda sensor. I was thinking drilling a hole and welding in an M18
nut, Into which the lambda sensor screws.
Is there a better way. Also is there a distance the sensor neds to protrude into the exhaust pipe.
Any SVA issues with the sensor that I can avoid?
Thanks
Ian

You can get fancy weld-in bosses from Ebay etc. Not sure they're much more than a piece of rod threaded to M18 though....

I can highly recommend one of Nick Skidmores weld in bosses. Ive just had one fitted into my exaust. Its a quality boss and comes with a plug as well.
I paid £7 for the stainless one delivered within 2 days.

Yep,
Mine was welded in by an exhaust fabricators but is essentially a smooth boss.
Just a point to note though when welding in the boss - weld it anywhere between the 9 and 3 o clock positions when viewing the exhaust end on.
The lower positions aint that great for the sensor owing to water condensing on the inside of the pipe and runnind down onto it.
