Wheels
Hi all,
I currently have a set of crappy wheels and tyres on my Tiger Cat E1 at the moment and want to change them. Tyres i have pretty much decided on some
Toyo R888's or some Yoko's.
The wheels i have got at the mo are 185 60 R14.
I know that everyone is going to tell me to go with 13" wheels but for a start there is none i like and the car is a weekend hooner so i would
prefer it to look nicer. I have decided on 15" wheels, however i have a couple of questions.
Will 15" fit a standard Tiger Cat E1?
What tyres should i use? - i was thinking 195 50 R15......
What is the stud diameter?
And the offset?
(think i got this right)
Basically i need to know that when i decide on the alloys i can order them with tyres and jobs a gooden they work.
Cheers

D,
Do you have a Cat or a Super Cat?
If it's the former, the widest you'll fit is the 185 60 R14 you've already got. If it's the latter, I believe you can go up to
205 50 R15's on 7 inch wide rims or even larger dia wheels with lower profile rubber.
The problem on anything over 195's is the tyre fouling the lip inside the rear arches.... trimming may be required.
I'm looking at changing to the Supercat rear bodywork on mine so I can fit 205 45 R16's. Only the std. Cat was available when I purchased
mine.
Hope this helps....
Martin.

Martin,
Thanks for the info. So basically i am stuck with 185. I understand that i cant go wider because of the arches but what about going from 14"
to 15" with say a 185 50 15R tyre, so lower profile?
Cheers

I also want to upgrade my standard Cats wheels from 14" to 15" and use 195 tyres. Is is not possible to find a 15" wheel with a
different offset and fit low profile tyres? Anyone know what offset may work?
