Side screen
Hi friends,
I am thinking about Avon side screen.
Any advice? Does I have to buy genuine avon side screen? Is it possible to install "generic locost" side screen? any advice where to buy
it?
Thankyou

Why not make your own in the locost spirit. Take some carboard and make a template. Then purchase some clear acrylic/perspex/lexan. You can cut it
using a jigsaw if your careful. Then cross file, draw file and wet and dry the edges. Finally polish with some car bodywork cutting compound.
You should be able to find some nice chrome lift off hinges from a mail order company.
Cheers

You can get original Caterham hinges for peanuts from their spares department. Which is especially hand it you're using the original Caterham
escutcheons....

The tiger item has an 'elbow bulge' running along it to give you extra room....
BUT they are £180 plus vat a pair! ouch
may be worth your while trying to make some yourself but following the Tiger design.....

i think the homemade ones look better
lexan is so easy to work with! you can cut it with a wood blade in a jigsaw
Gotta be a bit carefull not to scratch it though.

I have some original Tiger Avon sidescreens which I have never fitted (I changed my mind and went for an aeroscreen).
If a reasonable offer was made I would like to sell them.....

Thanks for the U2Us. I have replied to all interested persons, and shall post a picture next week.
