You have to knock the big core plug thingy out of the back of the gearbox selector case, for the 'rod' part of the extension to go through. Dont worry about having to reseal after, there are thousands in use out there with no probs....

Dont just build it.....make it!

I'm looking in to getting one of the extensions from westfield.

How much do they cost out of interest and do they want to know if its for one of their cars.

give westfield a ring on 01384400077, ask to be put through to parts, tell them what you want and they will take your cash. Mine got to me within one day

Not bad to fit either, but you need to knock out the reverse indent from the gearbox, the extention has it's own reverse stop on it so doesn't need the other one.

If you've got a Type 9 box and you're planning to make your own extension then you might like to take a look at my design - has the bonus of making a short-shift as well!

You can go through my web site home page (see below) or direct via

gear extend link

cheers,

David

Had a play with the new 'Tiger' gear lever extension at stoneliegh..

coudn't see it as it was fully installed on the B6 they had on the stand but it certainly felt slick....

Apparently it should be costing around the £60 mark...(we'll see!) and also apparently it's not a copy of another well known manufacturer - honest - no really - errr
