Has nobody actually driven one of these things?

Is that not slightly worrying?

Richard.

You know I always felt sorry for this category too!

Had a quick go in someones 1 time, glad to get out aswell, bag of shite but that was down to the guy who built it

Whats all this drivel about driving it, once mine is made I'm going to polish it and park it in the living room and use it as a coffee table. If I'm going to spend 6 months of my life building the damn thing I'm not going to drive it and let some ned in a pug give it an unwanted facelift. Drive it, hahaha, pull the other one.

I was thinking more protective long term would be to entirely encase it in a box of clear resin.
Obviously space would be an issue but all you'd have to do is put a matress on top and hey presto! You could keep it in the spare room...

ChrisW - 13/2/02 at 08:25 PM

Nah.... you'd never get it up the stairs.

Oh no, don't worry about that. With the lack of anywhere else suitable I'm building it in the bedroom anyway.

If I want to get it out, there's a flat roof outside I can get it onto (through the window) and then build a ramp down the rest of the way- no problem.

Well, if anybody decides to crash into ours once it's built and on the road, I'll most likely find a couple of large jet engines and do a conversion to challenge the land speed record.

Either that or end up over Afghanistan by accident....

not as comfy as my alfa

Hi Guys
I've driven mine today, 130 miles to stafford and back on wet salt strewn roads, with a full windscreen and no wipers!! I even had ChrisG next to me and it was still great! Get out there and drive the bloody things guys!!!
