matt_claydon - 16/5/08 at 12:55 PM

Looks awesome!

What it the charge-cooler / rad you are using and how much did it cost? I'm going to need one for my Volvo install.

Mr Whippy - 16/5/08 at 12:59 PM

never heard of a chargecooler, why would you use that instead of an intercooler?

Space mainly. You have a water-cooled heat exchanger that cools the intake air after the turbo, this can be located anywhere convenient for the large-bore plumbing. You then run small water pipes to a radiator in a good airflow. It's more complicated, more expensive and heavier, but potentially provides much more cooling when packaging is tricky.

j30fos - where did you get the actual charge cooler from, looks like a tidy little unit.

j30fos - 16/5/08 at 01:12 PM

you can get one from here http://www.chargecooler.co.uk/

welderman - 16/5/08 at 08:03 PM

Thanks John, was a project and a half to do. You can scare the crap out of me next time you come up in it, glad it's all sorted now, and see you monday

j30fos - 16/5/08 at 08:48 PM

you need to get yours sorted ASAP we need to sort out which is better BEC or 'T'CEC ;-) lol

Saying that though, mines a hybrid BEC chassis and CEC engine best of both worlds lol
