I'm interested in this too...had mine done by Demon Tweeks, but they set it up to the same spec as an elise ?!

iank - 3/7/07 at 08:56 PM

Depends what you want. If you know the settings you want and the suspension is easily adjustable the £50 ish quote is about right to set it up without corner weighting (see http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=50619 )

If you want them to set the car to optimal for a specific job it will depend how long it takes x their reputation.

had mine done on a laser alignment machine first time cost me £40 but didnt need much second time 2hrs cost me £100.ive got my own corner weight guage so did that myself.if you want ive got a pdf from westfield with toe/camber settings for front and rear of a westfield megabusa which is basically the same for cec and would be right for any seven type car

4 wheel alignment, camber and castor and corner weights, all done from full / new rebuild so a fair bit of adjustment - £150.

i have been looking for a 4 wheel laser allignment for the last week or so with no luck. can anyone reccomend somewhere in the northwest pref south manchester. Also tried searching for good set up basics and could only find the mac 1 advice on here, Should this be any different for my 5 yr old indy bird for road use and one lardy driver. any thoughts on an optimum set up.

thanks

£150 is what I paid - which was everything except corner weighting.

Basic laser alignment at your local tyre supplier is around £50.

procomp - 10/7/07 at 02:38 PM

Hi bit late in on this one.(been on hols)

But a profesional setup ( not your local tyre fitters) should if doing every thing Ie: Rideheights - all tracking - castor - cambers - centerlining track - cornerweights - removing all dampers/springs checking springs and running dampers on dyno for checking/balancing. Should be around the £200 ish mark.

Cheers matt

And I can thoroughly recommend Procomp to carry out this service (and no, I do not get any money for saying this! )

hi, update.

i booked in at ric woods as reccomended in this thread and he did camber, castor, toe in, rideheights and 4 wheel align for £211. thought it was a bit expensive but the car is a dream now to drive. so much better. highly reccomend.

thanks for the advice

just to second procomp and others that offer a suspension setup service rather than a "laser tracking service", 200 quid will be money well spent.

I have made a lot of bits and bobs for car setup over the years and will testify that it aint a 4 minute job!

Got to say procomp do an excellent job, i ve also been to rik woods and wasn't impressed although that was for engine setup not chassis. Procomp were fantastic and I can't thank them enough.
