just got my 2.0L sohc sierra donor car and am looking to buy the mk indy chassis. just looking for some feedback from any one who has, or knows someone who is using this chassis as it says i can acheive a full build using all the donor parts. is this really possible! any other info or comments on the chassis would be greatly apreciated before i take the plunge!

top quality work, and is genuinly buildable from a Sierra and the provided kit,
Have a chassis myself and would recommend both the kit and the company

Of course you would need seats etc but you will end up with something that runs n' rolls

ive just picked up my indy chassis from MK and the workmanship is spot on. all i need now is a cheap Sierra donor

how much was your chassis if you dont mind me asking and did you get any extras with it, i,e roll bar e.t.c
also how long did it take to come and does he deliver

i paid £950 + vat

you get all your wishbones, rear hubs, most of your body pannels, nuts and bolts etc

take in your old stearing rack and front hubs and you get reconditioned ones.

it sounds like a lot of money but you get a chassis which is machanically sound.

ive never done any welding so it was value for money for me.

it took 7 weeks for my order to arrive, but there is loads you can be doing in that time.

asfor delivery, well i live in Chesterfield so he lent me his transit van. spot on !!

MK Indy in my garage too,What braking system are you using on rear?

i was going to go for disks all round but a few people perswaded me to just use the sierra rear drumms.

for a few reasons,

quite a bit cheaper,
already on your donor (if you have one),
the locost is twice as light as the sierra so the standard breaks will be a big improvement.

what about you ?

I was having doubts with discs as they are hard to find at the right price.
After meeting people at shows last year with similar or as light cars,high percentage had changed to discs because of lack of rear brakes at rear.

And then there's me- so shallow that I want discs purely because they look better with alloys!

Yeah I know, not very Locost-esque but I want my car to look good and on something this small the wheels make up a large part of the 'look' of it. IMHO of course!

And I've gotta be allowed one frivolous aspect to the car!

Yes I can vouch for the quality of the workmanship from MK we were down there at the w/e and my m8 bought his chassis after we were treated to a spin in the demo car, they couldnt be a more friendlier bunch IMO.

started to strip down my donor sierra and noticed that the radiator is rather large. what i want to know is, can you use the original radiator and is there already brackets for this on the mk indy chassis.

Sierra rad is way to wide,MK4/5 cortina rad should just sit in under nose cone.
MK told me as long as its not bigger than 16x16 inches square,Nissan Micra is perfect and i've been told some Fiat rads will fit.
As for brackets there are none on my chassis,but making brackets cant be hard.
Sure if you ask when ordering chassis something can be sorted,as long as they know what rad your using

And I must be vain cos I'm using discs cos they are pretty

Well this post will break tradition, cos "Mad Dave" will normally follow me, any way, I'm using a Maestro Radiator, fits perfect and at £10 complete with fan and temp switch can't go wrong, the choice as they say............. is yours.

and probably even then only the MK owning variety, who have not been able to identify the one that Martin uses
