zx10r sprocket problem
jambo - 9/11/08 at 12:20 PM

i am a bit concerned with the sprocket adapter for my 07 year zx10r.
when the sprocket is placed on the output shaft of the engine it doesent sit on enough to allow the splined safety washer for the nut to catch the splines.
should i get the adapter turned down by 1.5mm in thickness (its about 10mm at the moment) or anyone had the same problem and rectified.
thanks jamie.

I had a 07 zx10r in my Indy, not sure what you mean, have you got a picture, mine sprocket adapter came almost to the end of the shaft, fitted the bolt and locking washer as usual,it may be your spocket adapter is a different make to mine,a picture can speak a thousand words if you have one.

My adaptor is exactly the same. The manufacturer recommended using high strength linelock although the output shaft turns the correct way to keep it tight (I think - got me thinking now). If you're not happy with it speak to the manufacturer they will probably offer to machine a mill or two off it.

first i put on the sprocket onto the engine and the thickness of the sprocket leaves no splines left to then put on the splined washer that then is suposed to bend over the nut to stop it coming loose.

I had the same problem, I put thread lock on at first. then thought better about it and had the back of the adapter turned down. Kawasaki don't fit a tab washer for no reason
