lol more zx12 q's this time coolant/speedo

Hi me again.

Ive got 2 questions regarding the ZX12 cooling system and speed sensor.

1, Phil’s (hellfire) website which I have used for lots of info (cheers) shows the coolant run he has used for the oil cooler is tapped into the return from the radiator to pump pipe. Which is nice and neat and makes it quick to plumb in, but as I have the bike rad (which i am not using) it shows that this pipe was coming from the end cap of the radiator on the ‘hot’ side. Does this mean the oil is cooled more in the car via Phil’s run and does it still flow as good?
2, the expansion tank is tapped into the engine to radiator top hose, what type of cap is used on this tank? Is it a normal pressure release type and what pressure has everyone used?
3, Not sure on this one, I take it the bike gets its speed signal electronically from the ecu, if so can I use this signal (maybe via a speedo healer) for my after market speedometer and gear indicator? Is its pulse useable? It makes it easier and requires less wiring this way.

Thank you again for any tips.
Andy

the speed can be obtained in one of the following ways:
1. a take off off the front wheel, either mechanical or electrical
2. a signal from the final drive sprocket
3. computed from the rpm and gearbox

you need to find a wiring diagram to figure out how the speedo is driven.

I am guessing you have a sensor like in case 2; see Mrgrumpy's posts in electric section.

Just looking thru the german workshop manual and i can see its got a speed sensor just above the sprocket. I will check if the signal is compatable with my devices later this week.

Sounds like good news then.
