Hey all
I'm after some of your experience, I started my fuel pump yesterday for the first time since I got it and to me it doesn't sound like its
working. It also doesn't seem to suck when I put my finger over the inlet pipe.
I've put a short video on youtube, can anyone confirm for me if my pump is knackered?

Thanks.
Mark.
diconect the outlet and see if you have a flow through the pipe is it connected the correct way round/ wired up correctly ?? it sounds as if it is pumping does it not need to go through a pressure regulator ?
It doesn't sound right to me. Too quick. Sounds like it's dry.
Mine makes that noise for a bit, then slows to a tick, tick, tick, once the pressure in the bowls / pipes is up.
Firstly, I don't think they self prime, they need fuel in them to start working. So lift the can onto the bulkhead to get it at least as high as
the pump, then see if you can get some fuel into the hose, using a funnel or something similar. Failing that disconnect the pipe from the carbs and
suck fuel from the can, through the pump and into the outlet pipe, reconnect and try again.

Thanks, I'll try filling it up first.
I did try to put some fuel in the pipe but got messy so gave up.
I'll report after xmas when I get back down there.
Slightly off topic but fit proper fuel pipe clips I believe SVA men don't like jubilee clips on fuel lines neither do I they don't seal
properly

Shouldn't carb'd bike engine pumps be gravity fed? They are normally lower than the tank outlet on the bike. I doubt the pump will draw fuel
that high from the fuel container.
