Hi just wondering what mods to sump would be required if any to fit a zx9r engine in a westfield se pre lit
cheers
ps not got an engine yet just finding out any info
you would want to cut the sump i believe. You would have a lot of sump out the bottom unless you had an abnormally tall bonnet. A baffle plate is a good idea but doesnt seem to be essential.
If it is pre lit it is probably live (escort) axle. The best ratio will be 3:58 and a bit short for a ZX9 you really could do with 3.1 ish. Also
make sure the ZX9 is a "C" (scrub C meant to say E) model or later as the earlier ones had rather fragile boxes.
As said the sump will need chopping to get rid of the udders.
For similar money you could get a Fazer 1000 motor no sump chop and better gearbox (ratio and strength).

the c model still had the weaker gearbox, it was the 99/2000 E that introduced the extra bearings.
