I will need some new tyres for the MK indy (893blade) shortly and would appreciate some feedback on what would be recommended.
The car will be used for road and occasional track use .
The car currently runs Avon zz1 205/45/zr16s and finding tyres in that size also will limit my choice.
I would like to eventually get another set of wheels/tyre combo ,but i dont want the expense at the moment.

Toyo T1R come highly recommended by many, grippy and progressive but at a very decent price. For all out performance and if you want to spend a bit more, Toyo R888 'cut slicks' are the tyre of choice if you can live with the lack of aquaplaning resistance, but if you mostly use the car on road I'd go with the T1R.

Leftfield suggestion, but if you want good all-weather grip on a budget, try some of these: -
Marangoni Zeta Linea
I have them on my MK. Great on the road, with a really good deep tread so handy in the wet too. Done a track day and a sprint on them so far and
they're nice and progressive. Won't be as good as the R888's in the dry, but at half the price they're definately worth a shot
and you get the bonus of good deep tread for the wet.
They're a very soft compound, but on cars this light they hold up very well. IIRC they get used in some sprint classes because they get grippy
quickly. And they didn't seem to go "off" on a full track day for me.
Another vote for the marangonis here. Had them fitted to my car recently and for the road they're pretty good. I tend to go for runs with bikes
and the regulars were amazed at how much faster I could corner on them compared to my old tyres. I decided against the T1R, as I have heard people say
that they can take forever to get up to temp.

I would have said Toyo T1R, Kumho KU31 or Falken ZE512 (now discontinued) for mostly road use.
Hmm but those Maragonis do look tempting, pitty I just bought some ZE912s to drive to work on. I have AO48s on a spare set of alloys for track
days.
I must say the most fun on track I've had was on ZE512s which were quite soft walled so worked well on a light car. No comparison on grip to
AO48s or R888s but very easy to drift at moderate speeds. Which taught me much more about car control and they survived some very hard driving on
track.

Had ZZ3's on my old FTO. Were too soft for that car, but might be okay on a kit.
