Hi guys,
Got a couple of problems which im thinking might be linked to each other.
The car is in neutral but no neutral light is showing, however the engine starts. The bulb is fine and have checked by putting a good one in its
place.
Also the water temp gauge has stopped working.
Both these problems happened at the same time, and by looking at the wiring the water temp wire runs into the same connector as the neutral switch
wire.
Anyone had a similar issue of know what could solve this?!
The engine is a Fireblade 896cc 1994 carbed model.
Many thanks
Ollie
How about the oil pressure switch? It also uses the same connector in most Fireblabes.
The fact that you haven't mentioned it suggests that you are not using it, so perhaps it is indeed a connector problem. Try testing for a path
to earth through the neutral switch.

Cheers John, i am using an oil pressure switch, and it is in the same connector as the other two. If the switch has failed would it also knock out both the netural indicator and the water temp gauge?
daft question but you haven't hit a faulse nuetral by any chance

I would suspect a blown fuse. The oil pressure and neutral switches would switch the ground, not the feed.
Also , you may want to check you have a good earth from the battery to the engine?
