My only worry about the ZX14 is how proven it is in BECs, but looking at old threads from this forum, this argument has been going on for a long time
already!
So is common wisdom that a stock ZX14 is good in BECs or not?
Cheers
i would imagine the zx14 would be awesome.ring andy bates as am sure he put one in a spire race car and told me it had bags of power and torque.i have seen a few of your posts about tuning and paul nightingale who owns spire sports cars has a supercharged 300BHP zx14 in his car.0-60 in under 4 secs and 150mph! a full write up in kit car magazine only a few months ago about it too.
pauls car goes very very well and is a top engine for tuning

Unfortunately the supercharger budget has been swollowed up by the need for things like seats and wheels, but it is still a plan for the future so its
good news someone has one!
I was just wondering why the ZX14 hasn't been adopted as much as the busa.
here you go zx14r http://www.bigccracing.com/shop/product.asp?idproduct=272&source=thumb
I should imagine it's just because it's not been around for so long and also because it does not sell anywhere near as well as the
'busa. In the states the Hayabusa has become a cult bike/motor with loads of trick bits available. It'll be a while, if ever, that the ZX14
achieves that same sales or status.
That said, there's no reason that the 1400 Kawa should not be a match for the Suzuki motor in a BEC.
