Posted this in SVA section but can anyone offer any more advise on a CAT and where people have got one from.

I am assuming the problem is being tested as a 900cc car rather than a 900cc bike. If so what should I have it tested as at my local garage/MOT
place?
If the engine numbers in the Haynes manual do not preclude the engine from being pre-95 "could" I get away with declaring it as a zx9 B1? or
will they require something specific to the engine number.

you'll need to prove its age, otherwise we'd all be doing it
Mmmmm.
So will I need a letter form Kawasaki or a dealer ?
Reason for mentioning the Haynes numbers was am sure thats been said on here before that it was sufficient. Then again I guess if it spans 1995 I
guess they will err on the wrong side of 1995!

I used a the Haynes manual. I told him what it was then showed the manual but he didn't seem to take much interest in the book once I'd told
him. Guess I have a trusting manner!
As for the cat, I got something like the universal one off Ebay like
this]thi
s but I got it from the USA as the dollar was low and I managed to skip the VAT man. Welded to an R1 can I sailed through.

Good to know thanks for your help.
Guess what I am wondering is if they will buy it being a pre-95 engine if the Haynes manual backs that up engine number wise?
Thinking I might just have to get a CAT off Ebay anyway.
