Got the Westfield back from having its R1 fitted (used to be a X-flow).
The standard SPAX are tired and the front ride height was too high.
Today i fitted some GAZ shocks from a mates Blade Westfield.
Here's my problem.....
The sump is now just 3" off the floor
What kind of height are others running? Is it too low?
Im going to run about 6" between chassis and ground (sump hangs about 2" below chassis) but i believe most run 4" between chassis and ground
yep my striker with a R1 engine is about 4 inches from the ground well to the sump shield! You will need a sump shield!. Those little speed humps are
the worse.

I have 65mm sump clearance which is less than 3" (and that's without me sat in it!) I have only lightly grounded it once on a speed bump in work. (I just avoid routes with them on the highway)

3" seems a little concerning but as others are running a similar height, it cant be that bad?
easisatman, did you make the sump gaurd? any pics?
About 5" (but that's one of the advantages of a dry sump)
Make a sump guard you will be ok.
5" ground clearance ? Your not taking full advantage of the dry sump, lower the engine and lower the cog....
ive just measured mine
3.5" from sump to floor
i can drive over those rubber bolt down spped bump jobbies without too much hassle

mine's about 4 fingers....no probs, just needs forward planning.
got on and off a ferry no probs, that was my biggest worry to date!
The vortx has 100mm of clearance between the chassis rails and the floor. My R1 sump hangs a little below this. So long as you are careful with speed humps you might be OK.
The underside of my chassis rail between the front wishbones is 120mm from the floor. The same measure at the back is 140mm.
The sump drain plug is the only thing that sticks down below the chassis rails. The last time I changed the oil, the sump plug had a few parallel
scores on the head of the bolt.
No problems with speed humps or big air!

I currently have around 4inchs chassis to ground, leaving about 2 inchs sump to ground.
- It works, and i basically dont hit it on anything. But at the same time im very glad its a pressed steel sump. And i am planning to shorten it or
swap it for a shorten one as soon as i conveniently can.

Here you go major stare some pics and the last one to pis* you all off its somthing called sunshine lol.
the guy who built my striker told me when he went to le mans coming out of the car park he hit a rock and resulted in hole in sump and all oil on the
floor !! so he made the sump sheild, the speed humps that are a problem are the short bolt down type as you go over them you can just feel the sump
sheild touch -see pics with the black rubber marks!! and you can see a lot of other scratches, so they are worth fitting
