R1 separate oil cooler - sanity check please!

Hi,
We want to run an oil cooler on our 2005 R1 engine.
The oil filter is so small, that we have not found any take-off plates or sandwitch plates that would fit there.
But the Mocal take-off plate does fit in place of the bike's original oil/water cooler.
We think that this original oil/water cooler will be irrelevant once a proper oil/air cooler is fitted, so we can replace it.
Does anyone see any issue with this setup at all?
Obviously on the pic there is no cover on the take-off plate, and no oil lines, but it does fit...

Thanks!

is that in its finished position? will it rotate 40degrees clockwise? as it is now the pipework is going to be pretty low in the car, lower than the sump? unless you have some 90degree fittings or some other cunning plan?

No, this is a trial fitting only, we will rotate so that the lines point forward.
Also note the large hole above the take-off plate where the rods came out to see the light... this is our damaged engine...
