I got a zx9r fuel pump which I'm pretty sure is the same as a blade pump. It failed today after 3 days of the car being on the road. needless
to say I want to get it fixed.
do they commonly fail and are repairable or shall I just buy a new pump.
It seems that the bar that the diaphram sits on pushes too far out, If I push it back into the pump it then starts to run again but doesn't
prime.
Help please...
Mark.
Mine went wrong before the sva. Ebay is the place. Got a new one, fitted and off again i went..
I got this one used off ebay, it makes be a little nervous that the next one could be the same...
Mine died within a few days, I suspect its because on the bike its below the tank so has a constant head, in the car its at best flush with the bottom
of the tank.
Got a low pressure facet one from Ebay for £25, the 1 - 2.5psi, that was fine.
Regards Mark
Mine came off the 91 bike, still going strong.........
Mark, do you know what pressure the blade pump runs at?
reman, where's your's placed?
Mines on the same level as the engine cradle at the front.

rear corner , level with the bottom of the tank
Bike pumps "push" wayyyyyy better than they "suck" so to me it sounds like your positioning of the pump is whats caused the
failure - especially if the pump was mounted quite high. As mentioned, the pump really needs to go at the back of the car below the level of the
tank.
You could try the existing pump at the rear of the car before buying a new one but i'd definately stick with a bike pump if using bike carbs.
