As above, I am trying to work out if the clutch travel is right.
By clutch lever arm I mean the one coming from the clutch cover. Engine is a 2000 5JJ R1.
Currently its maybe 50-60 degrees or so.
The pedal feels initially heavy then much lighter near end of the pedal travel. Is this the norm for a BEC clutch?
Thanks
James
Just been and had a measure on my bike 2001 5jj
With the clutch engaged (lever not pulled) the arm and cable are 80 degrees to one another.
Pull the clutch and the lever moves 30 degrees, so the cable and lever are at 120 degrees.
Lever is constant pressure and smooth all the travel.
Hope that helps
Pete.

Seems that I get a bit more lever travel and it goes light towards the end of the travel - is it possible to pull the clutch too far and damage
anything?
dont know about bikes but to much travel can damage a car clutch.

I think I am going to try an adjustable pedal stop. I suppose I will only find out once I get it off the axle stands!
James there is a arrow and spot marks on the cover and lever when the free play is taken up on lever by hand these 2 should line up then the
movement after that is about 30 degrees
