ZZR1400 ZX-14 BEC Sump options

Looking for some advice regarding the sump options for a ZZR1400/ZX-14 engine in a BEC, has anyone got away with modding an OEM sump and/or fitting an accusump system or is a billet sump with swinging pickup a minimum requirement?

I ran engine with standard sump for a while, with no surge or pressure problems on road only, not tried on track.
The sump pick up well eventually sucumbed to speed bump damage etc. so i had decide wether to adapt sump or look for a billet sump.
The problem with shortening sump is the filter is attached to side and about 20mm is all you can take off.
Decided to buy ali billeted jobbie which Andy at AB Performance had just developed.
I've done 2 trackdays since with no problems whatsoever (and i was'nt hanging about) plus no sump clearance issues.

I have a billet sump and still have clearance issues, so have fitted a wooden skid plate just incase I have an offroad incident.

I would highly recommend AB to provide you with advice and a suitable sump.

I also have an accusump fitted with a mocal remote filter kit and oil cooler. Not sure if it is 100% necessary, but with sticky tyres and giving the engine the thrashing off its life every run I thought it was a good idea.
