Hi all, im getting close to the stage of filling my 06 R1 with coolant to test out my hose setup, after working on a few cars when ive filled with
coolant theres always been a different way of bleeding the system or filling the system. Really just wondering as to the correct procedure of filling
and bleeding the system. I have a small alli header tank if that makes any difference.
Thanks in adance Greg
It the header has a tee off your bottom hose and smaller bleed hoses from the top of the circuit e.g thermostat housing and rad, then just fill it up
and it should self bleed.
If you have a header that is tee'd into your top hose only, then it is a case of fill, run, top up until it works (or boils over).
There is no substitute for a properly designed cooling system.
One is easy to fill and the other a complete mare.
Same here, we just filled it up and fired it... We have a bottom hose and two bleed hoses on top of our (Volvo) header tank.

My header tanks in the nose, I jacked the nose up as high as i could and filled via the header tank nice and slowly and it was fine.
Thanks guys, most helpful as always!
