Late '70s Bike Mag with Hub Centre Steer Comic Strip?
sucksqueezebangblow - 28/7/09 at 09:14 AM

Apologies as this is not strictly a BEC question but it has been bugging me for quite some time now!

Does any one remember the comic strip that appeared in a bike mag in the late '70s or early '80s that featured a biker with a hub centre steer bike?

What was the bike mag called (I was sure is was either Bike magazine or Superbike but am probably wrong) and most importantly what was the cartoon strip called?

A point of honour for me, 70s and 80s biking being my specialist subject.

Fantastic Mike , what a star! Now that's what I love about Locostbuilders.com. It must have taken all of two minutes to get your answer!!!

hahahah I remember that!

I even had a couple of the T-shirts with suitably offensive slogans on.

Something like "Jack Shit says......" etc...

PS; Jack Shit was the main character if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I've just ordered the Scratch Addict and Suzi on Hoover T-Shirts. It really brings back memories. I met the guy who made the Vyrus Hub Centre Steer motorcycle for Bimota at a motorcycle show at the Exel Arena. He was striking out on his own with the motorcycle as I think Bimota had developed their own replacement model. It triggered memories of the comic strip and I suggested he use it to promote his motorcycles but could not for the life of me remember the name of it. It's been bugging me ever since!

I just checked the price for the Vyrus with 1098R engine. Would you believe it is £50,000!
