How do i know how much oil I should have in the catch tank?
Do i stick to the Kawasaki recomended levels for the bike engine (ZX12) or should there be more or less being a dry sump set up?
Now that is a very tricky question!!!
With a dry sump you'll usually need more oil to compensate for the extra tubing. You'll also be less effective than having too much oil
because obviously the crank won't be walloping around in the oil but it's unecessary weight......
You'll need as much oil as will circulate in the engine plus a bit for the pipes and the filter and a bit extra for good measure!!

it's amazing what I've got saved onto my computer....
Dry sump mod is happening on my BEC at some point!!!!
Great... that link was very helpfull.
I think ill measure what comes out, put that amount back in (fresh) get it hot and circulating then fill accordingly.
It should be there or there abouts i suppose...
it would depend on your individual tank wouldnt it?
the westy one has 2 baffle plates inside - the level is with the engine on tickover between the plates which iv found is 5 1/2 - 6 litres
if thats the way the level is measured i would find out how the tank is set up from the manufacturer
