was going to swop my old clutch springs into the new engine as i had been told they where uprated. i then discovered they where about 7mm shorter than
the springs in the replacement engine.
shouldn't they be the same length, just harder to compress?
Blade engine clutch springs vary in length from engine year to year. You need to buy the uprated springs specific to your engine.

Just harder to compress, look for thicker wire, if really heavy they may be shorter to ensure that they do not become coil bound.
That said my barnet upgraded springs are both longer and thicker than three standard blade engines that these have now been through.

both engines are the same year, 98.
both springs look the same thickness wire, just a different length
