I am fitting 4 new gaskets where the header pipes meet the engine block.

The circular gaskets have a flat side and a rounded side.

Which side goes against the engine block, rounded or flat?

flat face facing engine, at least that's how i installed it, the rounded face then fits the flare in the headers.
