Our car was lowered onto it's wheel's for the first time today. Out on't road we took it steady - you know!
We were approaching 190mph and the bl**dy main coolant pipe came off and dumped it's contents all over the road... good job the electric fan
kicked in!
At rest we quickly checked everything over and then limped home, after refilling.
Only thing that was blazingly obvious was the speedo calibration... approximately 30mph threw speedo off the clock!!
Then when it's on the way round for the second time you will be doing about 60
Ooh Eer ! my coolant pipe came off my blade engine at full temp, but luckily mine was still on blocks !.
Out of interest, was it the pipe joining onto the extension bar fro mthe back of the engine to the bottom of the rad ? Mine was, and i am now flaring
the ends of the pipe to stop the jubilee clip slipping off the end.
Nope - it was the top rad. hose from front of engine block. Must double check them all again tho'
Well done, it's great feeling to actually drive it after working on it for so long.
Nice one.
Coolant pipe was probably just a dodgy jubilee clip!
