Need some advice:
Working on a new project, fiat 500 with a bike engine ( rear mounted).
And was looking for some advice for the diff, is there an alternative for the Quaife diff. (very expensive)
The idee is to built a car simular to the Z-car Mini cooper.
Or if somewone as a nice idee to do this. always welcome.

Thanks in advance

A lot of grass track cars with bike engines use a modified mini diff to allow it to be chain driven. I don't have any links to hand but maybe have a search for grasstrack etc on Google

Sorry its "autograss" rather than grasstrack (which is mostly used to describe bike racing it would seem )

You could build a subframe to take the engine and a sierra diff joined by a short propshaft then use shortened drive shafts. You will have to make your own independent or de dion set up. It will take a lot of working out and be heavier than the more expensive alternative though.
