getting bad clutch slip when underload in 4th.

wanted to know exactly what i need to uprate it.

plates (steels and frictions)
where can I get OEM apart from yamaha (are these best)
seen EBC and Barnett options too.

finally, is the diaphram barnett spring plate needed/best?

Telling us what your current set-up is would be a good start. I presume you are using the standard diaphragm spring? OEM plates/frictions. What oil are you using?

I have a 1998 clutch spring for sale. If it is the same spring on your engine, you could just double up on springs. The extra clamping force stops slip when using standard plates.

are you running fully synthetic?

We just use oem plates with the barnett coil spring conversion, have tried other aftermarket plates and wasnt impressed.
As others have said oil is important as certain brands cause clutch slip. We had a Busa at Snett at the weekend with chronic slip, dumped and changed theoil for maxima synthetic extra and the problem went away. We keep oil, plates and barnett conversions on the shelf if you need any of the parts

yep thumbs up for the barnett conversion. I bought new steels and friction pads from barnett also but apparently oem is better. One thing to add is the first friction pad in the pack is a different type and is locked wired in. I have been told you can do away with the lock wire and just fit an additional normal friction plate (which has more surface area).
