
Finally got my car back on the road this weekend and managed to get about 60 miles on it before its broken again. The clutch cable has broken off at
the part where it joins the clutch pedal clevis pin.
When it happened I thought the cable had pulled through the pin but when removed today its clear to see that the cable has just broken clean off.
The cable is a Venhil universal bike clutch cable. I now need to get a new cable but can't decide if I need to go uprated or am I just unlucky
that this one broke?
What does everyone else run. Will I be ok with another of the same cables?
p.s. The engine is an 893 fireblade and its fitted to an MK Indy.

Do you do the bolt up tight or leave it loose so it can pivot
If done up tight it pivots at the joint breaking the cable
It's amazing how many people tighten it without realising

Exactly the same happened to me, but mine has a clevis pin with split pin so it cannot be overtightend. The new one so far seems ok but I am not convinced. I think it something to do with the angle that it goes through the bulk head causing it to rub.
Mine snapped near the clevis, so i shortened the outer cable and used 4 grub screws to get a good bite on the cable.
You can get some cables that are coated in Nylon but i don't know who sells them.
The bolt was loose but using a locking nut so not to come undone. The cable that plenty of room to pivot.
I'm wondering if I may have done the grub screws up too tight causing the cable to break over time. Don't really know what to do though as
this is just a guess. I don't want to be replacing the cable every 6 months.
Is there a way of doing it in a hydraulic fashion?
