I've had a slipping problem on my zx9r clutch since last year(still not sorted yet i know), i did'nt know whether it was the springs i fitted which i now understand are crappy, or if it's the ware on the plate,s.
Now it only slips when given her the beans on up-shifts mainly clutchless. Yesterday i found that if i make sure the clutch is fully engaged before pressing throttle i get no slip at all. Does this mean it's the springs or the plates.

what oil are you using?

Castrol semisythentic i think. I know it's the right stuff.

i'd replace the springs if it goes away nice cheap easy fix, if it persists change the plates and you will already have the new springs.

Is there a quick easy way of checking the plates for ware.

measure the thickness of them. Although a fellow racer did this and they were within tolerances and it still slipped like f***

Have you checked the clutch is fully engaging, i.e. is the clutch arm fully returning, i.e. is cable too tight?

Yes , it was the first thing to check and also to make sure your foot leaves the clutch pedal alone.
