This is a Question for all u people using the ZX10R motor

What diff ratio are you using and what revs do u pull at about 70 to 80 mph plus the top speed Please

Will help me decided what engine will go in the Indy next. It needs an upgrade, to slow now

hi

here are the gear ratios,

Primary reduction ratio 1.611 (87/54)
Gear ratios: 1st 2.533 (38/15)
2nd 2.053 (39/19)
3rd 1.737 (33/19)
4th 1.524 (32/21)
5th 1.381 (29/21)
6th 1.304 (30/23)
Final reduction ratio 2.294 (39/17)

if you input them into the speed calculator on this site that will give you an idea,

i run a 314 with the turbo zx10r engine and seems a bit tall for 1st gear imho,

338 works well over the gears and around 125 top end on 15" wheels

cheers
sean

I can vouch for the ZX10r motor, very strong good power (170bhp-04/05 175bhp-06/07 @ cranck). Gearbox is better on 06/07 bike, that was my only gripe with my 05 race bike, very tuneable the official Kawasaki race kit manual is available all over the net, I'm going to give mine (07 engined MK Midi) a superstock tune, thinner headgasket(cheaper than std!) modded throttle bodies, race headers kit air filter, dial in the cams (cam sprockets have slotted holes for race setting). All the above with a custom map should see you at around 195bhp @ the cranck without going into expensive rebuilds.. I'd deffo steer clear of 04-08 R1 engines I've seen too many let go usually conrod failure. GSXR 1000 motors are very strong and have an excellent gearbox and from 05 were fitted with a slipper clutch same as the ZX10r.

Freelander 3.21 diff on 205/60/13 rears shows 69 in 1st and 135 in 6th, all indicated on speedo ( on a private track)

6th gear gives roughly 10 mph per 1000rpm on the above.

Thanks all for the reply's its a toss up between the zx12 or 10 just wondered about the gearing on the 10 as I've got 3.38 diff and didn't know if u needed a 3.14 or not
