Hello.
I have a 2007 (4c8) r1 engine, it currently wont start, although, earlier, when i turned it over, i got a spark, and the fuel pump cut in. Between
filling it with fuel, and rolling it out of the garage, i have developed a problem.
Previously, with Main switch on, and engine on, the engine light would come on, code 17, would be displayed, and when turning the engine over, my
digidash would report RPM etc, fuel pump would run.
Now, however, the engine light does not come on, and there is no spark or fuel pump, nor are any fault codes displayed.
Any idea what could be causing this? I'm somewhat stumped.
Anybody know how to test the immobilizer?
Just a quick thought - are you using the tilt sensor from the bike if so it depending on its position on the car could it have tripped - we normally
carefully silicon the pendulum in the run position to stop it moving when cornering

Hi Andy,
Checked the tilt sensor, its currently the correct way up, I checked earlier it was the right way up by turning it upside down and it registered as a
tilt sensor latch up.
I tried upside down and a few other inclinations and its made no different.
I seem to have symptoms similar to this chap:

Which was caused by water ingress, although in my case more likely a bad electrical joint. I'm not looking forward to stripping the loom again.
We had one with a really annoyinng intermittent fault last year which finally turned out to be a broken wire within the insulation on the cam position
sensor.
The outer sheath was intact but the copper inner was broken but just close enough to make a cicuit until vibration started. The cam pos and crank pos
connector tails are prone to stretching when the bikes are in a shunt.
I think I would be inclined to go round checking continuity on all the wires back to ecu before stripping the loom out.
By the way the break we had manifested itself as a slight thinning of the insulation.

Andy
