Since fitting the baffled sump in my 5PW 2003 R1, the DigiDash2 oil pressure alarm keeps "alarming".
It concerns me, if i drop the DishDash alarm settings, in the event of a problem it would be too late to turn off the engine.
Is there a way to add an LED/light that turns on during driving that would signal an oil pressure problem?
I suppose you could use the standard sensor that comes with all modern cars, which triggers a dash light, separate to the one on the digidash. Also, you can add an engine overheat light, using the normally open switches suggested by Britishtrident. This is what I've done, and it works at 100c.
It looks like the baffled sump was a bad move.
What have you got the alarm set at?
On the 5vy the pressure when hot, drops to 5psi at idle. If the 5pw is similar then the alarm is almost imposible to set at a usefull level without it
going off at idle.

When i get the scuttle and dash wiring re-plugged in, i'll check the DigiDash alarm settings.
Here's the DigiDash Alarm levels.........
RPM/PSI Alarm --- 2000rpm.
OIL PSI Alarm --- 10psi.
Water Alarm --- 105deg.
Oil Temp Alarm --- 115deg.
How do these look?

i think mine is set about 3000rpm but the psi is set quite a bit higher than 10. i'll check later.
i would also take it for a drive and check the actual oil pressure at differing engine speeds once its fully up to temp
mines at 22psi at 2500rpm
that's on a blade engine but i wouldn't of thought it would make much difference what engine when it comes to oil pressure
