R1 Engine Cradle - Into Mini Subframe - Who?
mid-buggy - 19/4/10 at 06:50 PM

Who does, or can do, an R1 engine cradle that will fit into a Mini subframe?

Or is it just a case of welding engine mounts at the right place?

Final one, who could make the sprockets etc needed to transfer power from gearbox to mini driveshafts (just like pro-motive's setup)

Mid-mounted, however due to design its just a case of same subframe, just at the back.

Zcars i would rank the best...

you can buy a full kit including, well, everything for a rear/mid engined mini for around 10k for the R1, or 7k for a volvo engine...

includes roll cage, suspension, engine, everything the engine needs to work, diff, front suspension, fuel tank...

if you change te engine position on a mini technically you need an i.v.a.

Only if you cut a hole in the monocoque, but there isn't another way to do it AFAIK.

Z-cars is even more expensive than pro-motive and AFAIK only do mid mount's not the mods to put them in the front.

This forum should be able to help/give inspiration.
